It's a man's world

It's a Mans World

We might just have been able to believe that a number of years ago but not any longer. The world of work is changing rapidly, and the part men and women play in it is changing too:

  • The traditional male role as the breadwinner and head of the household is also changing.
  • Women make up 47% of the work force and with more women working, this brings financial independence.
  • Different types of opportunities are now available
  • Some of the old traditional areas of work have almost disappeared entirely.

These changes mean that there are challenges ahead for both men and women.

However, men and women still tend to differ in the jobs they do and the hours they work. Often these differences start to appear in school and continue through education and into work.

It is now more important than ever that people enjoy the work that they do. And there are good reasons, very often financial, why you should at least think about the possibility of a non-traditional job or career.

It’s not a man’s world, or indeed a woman’s world, it’s your world and your future, so make it what you want it to be.
